Rockwall

Residents choose to make the 22 mile drive from Dallas across the lake to Rockwall because it’s worth the drive; and once they get home, there’s plenty to do. Located on the hillside of beautiful Lake Ray Hubbard, Rockwall of course offers plenty of water activities. There are four marinas three public boat ramps and a yacht club famous for its sailing regattas. Premier commercial and entertainment venues at The Harbor are the hotspot for dining and shopping, musical entertainment, festivals, weddings and the supreme backdrop for watching sunsets. The historic downtown offers its own assortment of fine shopping, dining and services. Rockwall’s many beautiful parks offer access to the lake fishing spots, trails, playgrounds and more. Buffalo Creek Golf Club features an array of rolling hills and majestic trees off the eastern shores of the lake. There’s also the Rockwall County Alliance for the Arts, which promotes tourism, community cultural activities and support of area arts organizations.

The city is served by the Rockwall Independent School District boasting four Rockwall schools rated Exemplary, and seven rated Recognized. Residents can choose to live in the older historic part of the city with lovely restored home sites and a quaint hometown feel; or buy in the golf course communities of The Shores and Buffalo Creek, which have housing options from the 200’s to over a million dollars. In the outskirts of the city, there are many farms and ranches available, which can offer you the country lifestyle with all the amenities of a large city. Being located on the east side of Lake Ray Hubbard, there are also many lakeside neighborhoods with waterfront homes available.
